The Outback can’t be defined. There are no fences or borderlines, and if you imagine the Outback as a place of dry arid land, you’ll be surprised to learn that it’s so much more. It’s a place full of myth and Australian stories, home to the world’s oldest surviving culture. A land of dramatic contrasts with scorched land, sprawling valleys and everything in between, igniting a sense of adventure and asking you to find your own unique connection.

The Places You’ll Go

Pick any place off the map. It could be Arnhem Land, the Kimberley or Cape York. Wherever you roam, there is so much to see. Uluru is taller than the Eiffel Tower, Alice Springs is the closest town to every beach in Australia, the Bungle Bungles have been carved out of the earth over millions of years, and Pajinka is the northernmost tip of Australia. Every journey through the Outback has hidden hollows and moments of magic, and Outback Spirit will take you further to go deeper on an all-inclusive tour. You’ll be left with a new appreciation and connection to Country.

The Things You’ll Do

A Welcome to Country, a cruise along palm-fringed beaches in an open-back four-wheel drive, or a scenic flight across the 1,000 islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago is just scratching the surface. We’ll introduce you to an Australia others can’t reach with our five-star fleet of custom Mercedes-Benz 4WD vehicles and, more importantly, a curiosity that has kept us coming back again and again. Our exclusive network of lodges and camps are positioned in the heart of the action and will immerse you in Mother Nature. Whether you’re catching wild barramundi or exploring rarely seen rock-art galleries, adventure is calling your name.

The Way You’ll Feel

In the Outback, you can travel for hours without seeing another car. Still, the Outback’s sense of isolation is challenged by the warmth of its people, whose diverse culture and religion change as quickly as stars shoot across the clear night sky. There are more than 150 Indigenous languages spoken across Central Australia, all of which tell the story of the land. Disconnect to reconnect, discovering an appetite for adventure that connects you to the land and people. The Outback is a feeling that you can only understand when you’re there.

The Adventure You’ll Have

The four corners of Australia are vast, dramatic and different. Each region showcases how the earth has evolved and changed over time, with unique personalities etched into the landscape.

There’s Arnhem Land, the spiritual heart of Australia. It is a unique expanse that stretches over 97,000 square kilometres and is rich in Aboriginal culture, breathtaking scenery and native wildlife. Framed by the Arafura Sea, the tropical waters that hug the coastline provide some of the best fishing in the world. Outback Spirit is one of the few operators who work closely with Traditional Owners to take you deeper into Arnhem Land to see, feel and discover this mysterious land. You’ll travel along outback roads, where the unsealed red dirt appears to go on forever, but the lush bushland lining the path directs you to the next stop. You’ll stay in luxury lodges and savour the region’s flavours with gourmet dining and premium wine selections.

To the northwest of Australia is the Kimberley, an iconic place and rite of passage for many Australians. To describe the Kimberley as remote and rugged is an understatement. With fiery red landscapes, ancient rock formations, verdant native flora and fauna, and never-ending horizons, the Kimberley is Australia’s final frontier. The region spans more than 420,000 square kilometres, is three times the size of England and is 100% uniquely Australian. For some, travelling deep into the Kimberley’s wildland may seem challenging, but for Outback Spirit, nothing is impossible. We’re one of the biggest operators in the region and have been sharing the Kimberley with guests for more than 20 years. Your adventure will cover all iconic destinations, including Ngauwudu (Mitchell Plateau), Purnululu National Park and a few unknowns that only Outback Spirit can show you. You’ll experience the Kimberley from different perspectives to get the whole picture. You’ll go off-road, travelling in our custom-built all-terrain Mercedes Benz 4WDs, take to the skies on scenic flights that soar over dramatic gorges, and stay in exclusive lodges and camps to get a real sense of where you are in the world.

Over on the East Coast, Cape York is where nature rules. Hemmed by Torres Strait, the Gulf of Carpentaria and the Coral Sea, it’s a complex union of untamed rivers, floodplains, grasslands, coastline and savannahs. Some of Australia’s best 4WD routes can be found here, and with Outback Spirit, you’ll explore every inch of it. From the ancient forest floors of the Daintree to scenic helicopter rides over Lakefield National Park and the rugged roads that lead to Pajinka, the northernmost tip of Australia, Cape York calls for an adventurous spirit.

Wherever you choose to roam, we want you to understand the Outback the same way we do. For Outback Spirit, nothing is impossible. We’ll take you to the most remote places where you’ll find genuine hospitality. Every tour is all-inclusive and all adventure, all you need to do is book, we’ll take care of the rest.
